Neighborhood Mentoring Academy (NMA) dba Union House Group Homes I & II and Catherine’s Place Group Home, was established in October of 2003 and began providing group home services in 2011. All homes are licensed by the State of Indiana, as non-profit residential independent living group homes for young men and women between the ages of 14 – 21 who are in need of support, guidance, and stability as they explore opportunities to develop their independent living skills. The homes offers a viable, effective and efficient means for a high quality Residential Treatment Services, achieving optimal value and care for young men and women who are no longer able to remain in their homes or have their needs met (Mental/Physical) in a family based foster care setting. Many of these youths having been evaluated and diagnosed with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).
NMA is an approved provider of Habilitation Services through the Indiana Division of Mental Health and Addiction (DMHA), within the Fort Wayne Community. NMA was awarded a contract with the Indiana Department of Child Services to provide our Fatherhood Engagement Program, which increases parental engagement of fathers who have children that are Wards of the State of Indiana and/or probation youths. Through our Fatherhood Engagement Program we are able to provide Supervised Visitation, Case Management, Parenting Skill's, Individual and Group Session, Community Resource Management, and Employability Skills Building.

Neighborhood Mentoring Academy seeks to transform lives by providing excellent care with sensitivity and direct attention to each youths individual needs by providing young men/women residing in the State of Indiana, who are in need of support and guidance to improve behaviors that are unacceptable/undesirable in the home and/or community setting in addition to other emotional and behavioral impairments with evidence-based, and individualized treatment services in a group home setting.
With collaborative efforts to achieve successful youth transition back into the family home or independence through treatment, education support, improved employability skills, and community integration, promoting self worth, independence, and confidence, fostering a spirit of partnership with families, and the Fort Wayne Community.
